During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic scenario and its numerous variants, energy-efficiency has become the need of the hour, which in turn accelerates the usage of green buildings which has been growing exponentially.
Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems have an important role to play in Green Buildings, since many of the green building factors are directly or indirectly affected by the performance of the HVAC systems. HVAC accounts for nearly 50-60 percent of the energy used in commercial buildings in India. While designing a green building, the HVAC system should reduce energy consumption and at the same time, it should maintain the interior environment at a comfortable level to preserve the occupant’s health, energy efficiency and productivity.
Green Building adoption focuses on Energy Efficient controls and Automation; powering clean energy, creating comfort for users. The awareness about health and environment hazards of carbon emission propels growing demand for structures with low greenhouse gas emissions.
With a view on probable insight into Green Buildngs, TCBU hosted a live interactive session on “HVAC for Green Buildings” on July 6th 2021. The panelists widely discussed the reasons behind the emerging HVAC solutions for green buildings and how it is getting implemented across different conditions and workplaces.
