A list of companies that serve air treatment products in the world includes AMFAH Group, a 12-year-old entity and pioneer in the sector of air treatment products, with distinct Indian ties. The list, published by the New York-based Lake Shore Gazette, is part of an industry analysis that the publication carried for the air treatment sector.
The industry analysis, ‘Global Market Study on Air Treatment Products’ by Persistence Market Research pegged at $35.6bn in 2016, saw an 8.3% growth within a year. The most significant component here, owing to the increasingly poor air quality, remains air purifiers.
Mansoor Ali, the founder of AMFAH Group and its subsidiary AMFAH India, appreciated the industry analysis gesture. He said that the inclusion of AMFAH Group on the list was a recognition of India’s market share in the air treatment products industry. “Sales for air treatment products in India have especially picked up by 60-75 percent post-COVID. These sales include a steady demand for 2-in-1 air purifiers and dehumidifiers, due to the link between coronaviruses and humidity levels. Even the WHO has acknowledged that poor levels of relative humidity, can increase the spread of COVID-19”, said Ali.
Ali has been campaigning for recognition of relative humidity as a critical factor in the spread of COVID-19. He has consistently spoken about the need to manage RH levels on multiple platforms, in consultation with state and central governments in India and international bodies. His company’s Indian wing, AMFAH India, has also recently contributed air treatment products like dehumidifiers to hospitals across Mumbai, one of the cities worsthit by the COVID crisis in India.
