ASHRAE is accepting papers for the IEQ 2025 Conference, co-organized by ASHRAE and AIVC, in Montreal, Canada. The conference aims to improve knowledge on indoor environmental Quality (IEQ) and strengthen resilience in the face of climate change.
ASHRAE is accepting papers for the IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) 2025 Conference, co-organized by ASHRAE and AIVC and scheduled for September 24-26, 2025, in Montreal, Canada. The conference expands on the research and debates of the previous ASHRAE IAQ conference series, which began in 1986. The conference’s subject is “Rising to New Challenges: Connecting IEQ to a Sustainable Future” and focuses on improving knowledge of how occupants respond to diverse indoor environmental elements while strengthening resilience in the face of climate change.
Iain Walker, conference co-chair, said, “Incorporating sustainability into building design and operation is a key goal for ASHRAE and the broader building community.” “This conference will focus on the relationships between IEQ and sustainability, offering a platform for industry-leading researchers and practitioners to share their knowledge and solutions for addressing sustainability challenges.”
Jennifer Isenbeck, co-chair, said, “One aspect of IEQ in the built environment is to raise awareness of resilience without incurring resource penalties in our dynamic world.” “This conference will provide a collaborative framework to showcase advanced technologies, materials selection, and their integration into building designs and retrofits, all of which support sustainability and resilience in our communities.”
The conference steering committee is seeking papers on various topics related to Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), occupancy behavior, smart sensors, resilience, ventilation, air tightness, thermal comfort, policy and standards, HVAC and IEQ in a post-COVID world, and ventilation and building decarbonisation. Topics include performance metrics, occupancy behavior, smart sensors, resilience, ventilation, air tightness, thermal comfort, policy and standards, and building decarbonisation.
Authors have the option to submit a short abstract for either a conference paper (8-page manuscript) or an extended abstract (3-page manuscript). Short abstract submissions are due November 11, 2024. If accepted, complete manuscript submissions are due March 10, 2025. For more information or to submit an abstract,
