Atlas Copco Group appoints Koen Lauwers President of the Vacuum Technique business area and member of Group Management, effective January 1, 2025. Koen Lauwers is currently President for the Semiconductor division within the same business area.
Vagner Rego, President & CEO of Atlas Copco Group, praised Koen Lauwers as a passionate leader with extensive experience. Over the years, Koen has achieved strong business results and developed high-value solutions for customers. Vagner expressed his pleasure in Koen accepting this new role.
Koen Lauwers, a Belgian citizen, joined Atlas Copco in 1997 and has since then built a successful career in the Group including international stints in the U.S. and Germany. In 2023, he became President of the Semiconductor division, after previously leading the Industrial Vacuum division within the Vacuum business area.
Koen holds a master’s in electro-mechanical engineering from the University of Leuven and an MBA from the Antwerp Management School. In 2023, the Vacuum Technique division had revenues of BSEK 42.8 and employed around 12,600 people.
