Trane Technologies, a global climate innovation company, is achieving its 2030 sustainability goals while maintaining strong financial performance. The company’s ESG Report, Accelerating Action for Impact, highlights its investment in sustainable innovation and progress towards its goals.

Trane Technologies, a global climate innovation company, is achieving its 2030 sustainability goals while maintaining strong financial performance. The company’s ESG Report, Accelerating Action for Impact, highlights its investment in sustainable innovation and progress towards its goals. Since 2019, Trane Technologies has reduced carbon emissions from customers and reported a third consecutive year of over 20 prcent adjusted EPS growth.

Trane Technologies’ 2023 ESG Report is a comprehensive, framework-aligned collection of data that promotes transparency and accountability. Notable progress made in 2023 towards Trane Technologies’ 2030 sustainability Commitments and other areas include (relative to the 2019 baseline unless otherwise stated):

Gigaton Challenge: Customers’ emissions were reduced by 157 million metric tonnes of carbon, equivalent to roughly 18 billion gallons of petrol, as part of the Gigaton Challenge, a goal to decrease one billion metric tonnes of carbon emissions by 2030.

• Carbon Neutrality: Reduced operational (Scope 1 and 2) emissions by 44 percent ahead of schedule, putting the company on track to meet its science-based target of 50 percent reduction and carbon neutral operations across its footprint by 2030.

• Absolute Energy: Despite increased demand and production, we reduced absolute energy use by 4 percent, bringing us closer to our 10 percent goal.

• Renewable Energy1: Renewable energy sources covered 68 percent of worldwide electricity demand.

• Water and Waste: Reduced water usage by 26 percent at plants in water-stressed regions, resulting in a 33 percent reduction in total water consumption, and achieved zero waste to landfill at 85 percent of global production sites.

• Gender Parity: Women’s representation in management increased to 25.2 percent, and women now hold six of the twelve seats on the Board of Directors.

Volunteerism: Completed 92,517 employee volunteer hours in 2023, reaching 47 percent of our 2030 goal.  

WorkforceInnovation: Repositioned policy of tuition reimbursement to tuition advancement to further enable opportunities for learning by reducing the upfront financial burden – increasing program participation by 39 percent compared to prior year. Launched pioneering, skills-based Trane® Technician Apprenticeship Program, nationally registered through the U.S. Department of Labor, welcoming more than 80 apprentices from 26 states.
