From 8 to 10 October, Chillventa 2024 will be the international hub of the global refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump community. As global industries evolve, sustainability, digitalisation, and the energy transition are becoming essential. Addressing these challenges alongside the refrigerant shift is crucial for shaping a resilient and eco-conscious future.
Before the expo, the Chillventa one-day congress programme will give experts the chance to learn about the latest trends and developments in depth. This year, topics such as sustainability, digitalisation, the energy transition and refrigerants will take centre stage at the congress and the exhibition. The organisers expect an increase in the key figures relevant to the exhibition.
Daniela Heinkel, Director of Chillventa, Nürnberg Messe, says, “The outlook for Chillventa 2024 is excellent. As of today, we expect to welcome around 930 exhibiting companies from almost 50 countries to Nuremberg. We have already surpassed the final figure for the previous event, with a growth of five percent. Apart from the remaining spaces, we are already almost fully booked. The growth of Chillventa is a great signal and a sure sign that Chillventa is an important trading platform for companies from all over the world to meet the right customers, introduce themselves and cultivate contacts.”
International contingent
In 2024, the proportion of exhibitors from abroad will be 75 percent, exhibiting further growth in this area. The figure for trade visitors in 2022 was 56 percent. “We expect a similarly high level of global participation on the visitor side in 2024,” says Heinkel. “Chillventa is the international networking platform for Chillventa Connecting Experts.”
Chillventa and the Chillventa CONGRESS
Chillventa provides components, systems and applications for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps. This year, the exhibition and CONGRESS will focus on heat pumps and refrigerants in the context of sustainability and the circular economy. Other topics include digitalisation, overall energy efficiency, IT security for refrigeration systems, Eco-design, efficiency through controls, innovation in heat transfer, air conditioning and waste heat utilisation in data centres, heat recovery and much more.
The Chillventa CONGRESS will offer experts a comprehensive insight into current industry topics. Prominent international speakers will impart knowledge from R&D and actual practice and provide information on the current underlying political conditions in Germany, Europe and worldwide. This year’s congress programme focuses on sustainability, refrigerants and the energy transition.
Chillventa trade forums
In the four trade forums viz., Refrigeration; Air Conditioning, Ventilation & Heat Pumps; Application, Education & Regulation; and A Practical Guide to Digitisation: prominent speakers and companies will present ground-breaking topics in over 200 presentations. In the heat pumps section, trade visitors will find presentations on low-power air-to-air heat pumps through to industrial heat pumps in the MW range and the high-temperature heat pumps used for steam generation.
The complex topic of refrigerants will include the effects of the F-Gas Regulation, the importance of PFAS, the use of refrigeration oils for low GWP refrigerants, leakage detection, sensors for A2 and A3 refrigerants, risk assessment when using flammable refrigerants, optimisation of R744 and R717 systems, planning for R290 heat pumps and air conditioning systems.
Tasks and solutions will also be featured at the expo. At the A Practical Guide to Digitisation forum, trade visitors will learn firsthand how to increase efficiency and productivity and secure their future by digitalising business processes. Experts and experienced entrepreneurs will provide insight into what customers and business partners expect from a digitally positioned trade business.
Special presentations: By professionals for professionals
Chillventa is known for its informative special presentations, which will continue its long-standing tradition in 2024. They will cover current and industry-relevant topics, provide insights into the latest technologies and describe the required expertise.
This year, the Federal Technical College will present a topic on “Refrigerant loss and no leak found! How it works!” The focus will be on the functional testing of leak detectors, the application of the envelope method, and the visualisation of the pressure drop test.
Heat pumps have been a fixed part of Chillventa since the event began. In recent years, they have become established as a technology for decarbonising the building sector and industrial processes.
A platform for young companies and start-ups
Chillventa offers international start-ups the opportunity to present their innovative products, solutions, ideas or services in the international START: HUB area. Start-ups and young companies from Germany will present their product innovations to trade visitors at the subsidised “Young Innovators” pavilion.
