Federal support promoting home electrification and energy efficiency anticipated to spur demand for all-climate heat pumps.

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC (METUS), a leading supplier of Ductless and Ducted Mini-split and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat pump and air-conditioning systems reaffirmed its support of the Home Energy Reb ate Programs under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is accepting applications for state and territory implementation of the two Home Energy Rebate programs created by the IRA. The DOE has issued guidance for these governments for the Home Efficiency Rebates and the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates.

Mark Kuntz, Chief Executive Officer, Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US said, “The High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Act (HEEHRA), and the Home Owner Managing Energy Savings (HOMES) Act, represent an opportunity to impact communities across the country by increasing adoption of all-climate heat pumps. With the recently released guidance from the DOE, we eagerly await the states’ launch of their rebate programs.”

METUS has already seen increased consumer interest and installation of variable-capacity, all-climate heat pumps through the IRA’s energy efficient home improvement 25C tax credit, available to homeowners since earlier this year.
