AHRI MENA held its second annual meeting, ‘Convening HVACR Leaders: Shaping the Future of the Industry, ’ in Dubai. It united regional and international HVACR AHRI member company leaders to address growth, regulatory changes, environmental shifts, and challenges, announcing initiatives to drive innovation and regional collaboration.

AHRI MENA welcomed over 30 C-level executives from leading regional and international HVACR AHRI member companies to its second annual meeting. This exclusive event presents a platform for stakeholders to shape the HVACR industry’s future amid rapid growth, environmental shifts, and regulatory changes.

AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek, Senior VP of Global Services Henry Hwong, and AHRI MENA MD Nabil Shahin led the discussions, alongside all attendees from key organizations. Stephen Yorek said “For environmental policies to be successful they must be attainable – not aspirational, economically justified and based on a sound assessment of current and future needs, supplies and demands.”

The members emphasized AHRI’s important role in aligning the HVACR industry with the MENA region’s governments and regulatory bodies. They encouraged AHRI to take a leadership role in guiding and advising on regulations and practices to help achieve the region’s future energy and environmental goals, including the refrigerant transition, the adoption of energy-efficient technologies, and training and capacity building.

Two significant announcements were made during the event.

  • The establishment of a regional HVAC laboratory in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, through a partnership between (GCC LAB) and AHRI.
  • The launch of a new and exclusive HVACR expo, “HVACR World”, in collaboration with dmg events, AHRI and ASHRAE RAL, with the inaugural expo scheduled for November 2025 in Dubai.
