Embraco will be at Chillventa 2024, with a portfolio filled with recent and soon-to-be launches developed to consolidate its capability as a full solutions brand. Recent launches reinforce market positioning and support the goal of doubling net sales in 5 years.
Alongside Embraco’s product line expansion, Nidec Global Appliance is incorporating FIR, a brand of motors and pumps for food service, professional appliances, and medical applications. Some of these will be showcased at the event. Chillventa event is one of the world’s biggest trade shows in the HVAC&R sector and will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from October 8 to 10th. Embraco will be at booth 7-130 presenting its portfolio and newest solutions including electronic components that allow full integration of the refrigeration system, already with case studies results, as well as a comprehensive range of condensing units and monoblocks.
Guilherme Almeida, Nidec Global Appliance’s president states, “We want to show that Embraco is at a new level, offering a complete range of solutions for all customers’ needs in the commercial and residential refrigeration segments. Our 53 years of innovation have put us in a position to expand the portfolio with a unique approach, thinking ahead and shaping trends, such as the integration of components. At Chillventa, Sync it All, our integrated portfolio, is already proving its advantages with performance case studies. This new approach to the refrigeration system and other new solutions compose a product mix expansion that will support our goal of doubling Embraco’s portfolio net sales in 5 years”.
Integration by electronics brings more energy efficiency
One of the highlights was recently launched Sync it All portfolio, which embodies electronic components integration. It consists of the Embraco AIR fan, the Embraco SYNC controller, and the YouControl development interface (software), all integrated with Embraco variable-speed compressors, for applications in the commercial appliances segment.
At Chillventa, Embraco will present several case studies with this new portfolio. In one of them, made with a food service upright freezer, a standard fixed-speed compressor that is very common on the field today was replaced by a variable-speed model, the VEH, managed by the Embraco Sync controller, and a standard fan was replaced by the electronically commutated motor fan Embraco Air, reaching up to 31 percent energy savings with the whole new package.
In another test, with a food retail horizontal freezer, the most energy-efficient fixed-speed compressor in Embraco’s portfolio, the EMC, was switched by an also highly energy-efficient Embraco variable-speed compressor, the FMFT, associated with the Embraco Sync controller. Even in comparison to an optimised premium efficiency compressor such as the EMC, and test conditions of frequent door openings, the result was 13 percent of savings in energy consumption.
In a third case study, the test was made in a multideck display fridge powered by two compressors. In this case, two fixed-speed compressors were switched by two variable-speed models managed by the Embraco Sync controller, and the result was even better: 17 percent savings, because the Embraco Sync is able to make both compressors work synchronously.
Daniel Campos, Head of the Commercial Appliances Business & Vice President at Nidec Global Appliance explains, “This is a solution that can further reduce the energy consumption, even for systems already powered by best in class solutions. But as important as the energy savings is the fact that we made it easier and faster for customers to set the parameters that achieve these results”.
“This new portfolio means that now customers can concentrate the buying process on one trusted partner, and have electronic components that can be integrated and synchronized to enhance performance, increase energy efficiency, simplify project development, and accelerate implementation”, he adds.
Embraco also aims to demonstrate that its portfolio of condensing units and monoblocks is likewise a form of integration, in this case of all the refrigeration system’s components. Gilmar Pirovano, Commercial Appliances Sales Director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) at Nidec Global Appliance explains, “When customers buy a complete solution like a condensing unit or a monoblock they save the time and effort of buying and assembling each system’s components from different suppliers”.
At Chillventa, Embraco will highlight its new line of monoblocks, sealed units that can be mounted on the top of the refrigeration equipment. The products are designed for large applications, like cold rooms, and can integrate up to 4 compressors, all highly energy efficient and using low GWP (global warming potential) refrigerant R290.
Compressors: from the smallest to the largest
Among other solutions for commercial refrigeration, visitors will be able to check the latest model of the VNEX series, a line of R290 variable-speed compressors with a maximum displacement of up to 21 cc. This series was developed to serve large refrigeration equipment, such as reach-in commercial freezers with up to 5 doors, or vertical refrigerated display cabinets, offering the highest cooling capacity and energy efficiency in this product category, with a maximum cooling capacity of 1670W and an efficiency of 1.86 W/W (tested in Ashrae LBP).
Among the compressors for home appliances, the spotlight will be on the most compact compressor of the portfolio, with around 2.5 kg, which is almost 50 percent lighter than the already compact previous platform (FMX). This new platform uses natural refrigerant R600a and was designed to make variable-speed technology affordable for all types of home appliances.
Embraco a global partner in decarbonisation efforts is engaged in the goal of reducing customers’ carbon footprint by 1 gigaton by 2030, established by NidecACIM (Appliance, Commercial and Industrial Motors), the business unit of which Nidec Global Appliance is part. “Our products are designed not only to comply with the most demanding regulations regarding energy consumption and refrigerants’ use but also and foremost, to support our customers on their decarbonisation journeys”, reinforces Pirovano.
