Advance assistance for those who work in predictive maintenance, condition monitoring and facility management.
Testo, a leading technology expert in measuring equipment, provides valuable support to customers engaged in predictive maintenance and facility management through its latest innovation, the testo 883 thermal imager. This cutting-edge thermal imaging device, renowned for its superior image quality and automated image handling, has been designed and manufactured entirely in Germany. This remarkable camera significantly alleviates the daily tasks of professionals optimising plant operations.
Maintenance makes all the difference. In day-to-day work, maintenance, safety auditors and facility management experts can make all the difference between experiencing a successful day with achieved production targets or less productive days with losses due to unplanned downtime. Furthermore, their work is made more difficult by constant high-time pressures, administrative and documentation efforts that are only sometimes productive and inadequate tools could be a challenge too. This underscores the critical need for these experts to have access to the best quality maintenance equipment.
The image quality is what matters.
The testo 883 thermal imager offers an infrared resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, which can even be expanded up to 640 x 480 pixels with the built-in testo Super Resolution technology. And the manual focus always guarantees the user full control of the thermal image.
Automatic image management In maintenance, a common issue arises when dealing with numerous similar measuring objects, such as obtaining multiple similar thermal images from switch cabinets during inspections. Previously, one had to create detailed lists or attach voice comments to each thermal image to distinguish and organise these images effectively. Testo’s Site Recognition technology solves this problem by autonomously identifying the measurement location and then saving and organising the thermal images accordingly. This technology eliminates the potential for mix-ups, reduces the risk of evaluation errors, and significantly streamlines the process by eliminating the need for manual image categorisation.
Networked working
The testo 883 thermal imager integrates seamlessly into Testo’s digital measuring technology portfolio. The testo Thermography App lets thermal images quickly be analysed on a smartphone/
tablet or shared with colleagues, decision-makers and managers. Readings from the testo 770-3 clamp meter and testo 605i smart thermo-hygrometer are also integrated directly into the thermal image. For example, when checking switching cabinets, the load status can be recorded directly in the thermal image to assess the system’s condition reliably.
Application areas
In an industry where machines and equipment like motors, generators, gearboxes, bearings, and shafts are continuously operational, it becomes equally important to ensure their health and proper working conditions. Early identification of imminent malfunctions, wear, damages or defects on plants and machines is critical, and the same goes for electrical components like switching cabinets. Similarly, serious threats like hotspots, short circuits, cracks, and corrosion can jeopardise the power output of solar PV plants and their components. Wi-Fi-enabled testo 883 is the ideal instrument for such predictive maintenance applications.
The health of a building, construction quality, improper heat transfer, leaks, cracks, or moulds in the structure can also be easily monitored. In addition to that, for any facility, right from shopping malls, hospitals, exhibition centres, meeting rooms or even airports, proper checking of air ventilation & conditioning systems and their installations is a must because it directly influences human comfort and health, which can be easily addressed with new testo 883.
The testo 883 thermal imager is available as a separate instrument or in a kit with a telephoto lens, additional battery and charging station from specialist dealers or directly from www.testo.com or write back to us on info@testo.in
