AHUs get smart with IoT

What new technologies and innovations have you showcased at ACREX?

We are pioneers in indirect and direct evaporative cooling systems, including two-stage evaporative cooling, an innovation in the HVAC industry. Our cooling solutions do not rely on refrigerants, making them sustainable. At ACREX, we exhibited our flagship product, an IIT-certified two-stage evaporative cooling system, along with other innovations such as the DMA (Dual Motor Ambulator) and the Smart AHU, which improves energy efficiency in HVAC systems.

Can you elaborate on the Smart AHU?

A Smart AHU is a standard air handling unit (AHU) integrated with IoT capabilities. It enables real-time monitoring of airflow, fan status, coil functionality, and other critical parameters. The system provides instant data access via IoT, making it a more efficient and intelligent solution.

Are you integrating AI and IoT across all your products?

Yes, IoT is embedded in our flagship product as well. However, we go beyond data collection—our approach involves advanced analysis to optimize performance. While IoT helps monitor machine status, our solutions leverage data analytics to provide valuable insights – a key differentiator in the industry.

How do your solutions improve large-space cooling?

Cooling large spaces with traditional air conditioning is costly and energy-intensive. While large corporations may afford such installations, the ongoing operational costs can be prohibitive. Maintaining temperatures at 24-23°C in tropical countries like India is unnecessary. Our solutions efficiently provide a comfortable temperature range of 27-30°C with enhanced airflow and 100 per cent fresh air circulation. Unlike conventional air conditioning systems that recirculate air, our technology ensures a constant supply of fresh air while consuming up to 40% less power. This makes it better for warehouses, automobile plants, and tyre industries.

How do you ensure strong after-sales support?

We have an extensive service network across India and internationally, supported by a proactive IoT-enabled alert system. Customers receive real-time asset alerts, and a copy is also sent to our team, allowing us to offer quick and efficient support. Our products require minimal maintenance, as they consist of only two moving parts—a blower pump and two motors—reducing the need for frequent servicing.

How does switching to your HMK solution benefit customers in terms of cost and efficiency?

Our solutions incorporate cutting-edge fan technology with higher efficiency, leading to energy savings. Unlike traditional HVAC systems, our equipment does not require compressors, resulting in lower power consumption. As the industry moves towards energy-efficient cooling, more companies are adopting two-stage evaporative cooling systems.

How do your products support sustainability?

Sustainability is a key focus for us. First, our systems consume significantly less power, reducing energy costs. Second, we use environmentally friendly and fully recyclable materials in our manufacturing process. Additionally, our solutions provide 100% fresh air, which has become a crucial factor post-pandemic as the need for improved indoor air quality has grown. By eliminating air recirculation, we enhance comfort while maintaining sustainability.

What is the future of the HVAC market in India?

India’s HVAC market is diverse, covering everything from small split AC units to large-scale chiller plants. The demand is growing across residential, commercial, and industrial cooling sectors. However, rising outdoor temperatures and the high costs associated with traditional air conditioning systems drive the adoption of alternative solutions like evaporative cooling for large spaces. Our products ensure a comfortable indoor environment by maintaining temperatures below 30°C while providing high-velocity airflow. With the increasing emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability, we foresee a strong shift towards such advanced cooling solutions in the coming years.
