Chillventa, the world’s leading exhibition for refrigeration technology, will take place in Nuremberg from October 8–10, 2024. The event will showcase expert insights on key topics such as refrigerants, heat pumps, energy transition, sustainability, circular economy, and the skilled labour shortage—major focus areas for the Chillventa community.
Chillventa is where visitors find solutions for specific questions and see the latest products. The day before the exhibition, anyone needing more in-depth professional knowledge, say about the scientific aspects of refrigeration or heat pump technology, should head to the Chillventa CONGRESS.
Keeping with the motto: Chillventa Connecting Experts, ‘Knowledge transfer, and bringing the right people together’ are components of Chillventa. In the specialist forums, renowned speakers and companies will present cutting-edge topics in more than 200 presentations – it is professional expertise first-hand, says Dr Rainer Jakobs, who coordinates the supporting programme for Chillventa and the European Heat Pump Summit.
Jakobs continues, “At the exhibition, in the forums, in the Chillventa CONGRESS, the focus will be on the heat pump and refrigerants in the context of sustainability and the circular economy. However, digitalisation, energy performance, the IT security of refrigeration systems, eco-design, efficiency through controls, innovation in heat transfer, air conditioning and waste heat utilisation in data centres, heat recovery and many more topics will be covered by prestigious international experts and companies.”
Knowledge hub: Chillventa specialist forums
Visitors to the Chillventa, looking for specific answers to current questions or wanting to expand their knowledge, should visit the four specialist forums. Visitors can look forward to insightful presentations on topics across various specialist forums, including refrigeration technology in Hall 7A and Air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump technology in Hall 4A. There will also be sessions focusing on applications, training, and codes of practice in Hall 8, along with a practical guide to digitalisation in Hall 9.
Over the three days of the event, the experts will present a wide range of topics, ranging from-
- A new outlook on refrigerant alternatives;
- Amendments to the F-gas regulation;
- Circular economy and consequences for the ventilation and fan industry;
- The urgent need for a single heat pump certification: current and future challenges and on HVAC sustainable transition;
- R-744 heat pumps for both retrofits and new installations;
- Energy efficiency at the highest level: heat pump cascade revolutionises heating and cooling processes in milk processing or digitalisation.
Chillventa CONGRESS
Renowned international speakers will share their knowledge from research, development, and practice and provide information about the latest policy frameworks in Germany, Europe, and worldwide. This year’s congress programme consists of thematic streams focusing on sustainability, heat pumps, refrigerants, industrial applications, and the energy transition.
8th Innovation Day refrigeration technology
Trends and challenges in heat pump compressors (in German) include high-temperature heat pumps, Heat-to-cool compressor technology for sustainable heating, water as refrigerant, Thermal management for electric vehicles, and Simulation of a new type of oscillating piston compressor.
ASERCOM + EPEE Symposium
The symposium’s topics include the Implementation and next steps for the F-gas Regulation, current developments in PFAS, Eco-design, sustainability, and the interplay between legislation. Other topics include how the energy grid can cope with the RACHP energy transition and technological and geopolitical challenges on the road to zero emissions.
Heat Pumping Technologies
Some topics are Technologies for commercial and industrial applications, Industrial drying, Heat pumps in a circular economy, Safety with flammable refrigerants, and Steam Compressors for Heat Pumps. Pure Refrigerants vs. Zeotropic Mixes in Heat Pumps; how semi-hermetic compressors can simplify the switch to R717 and the topic on Smart Heat Pumps; and thermal energy storage with a heat pump.
Moreover, there will be a discussion on the energy-efficient air conditioning of data centres (in German) focusing on waste heat utilisation, water cooling as a heat supplier, direct liquid cooling, immersion cooling and the Energy Efficiency Act.
Experts travelling from all over the world to Chillventa in October 2024 will be able to access information from specialist forums, exhibition stands, and special presentations, acquire knowledge, and enjoy face-to-face discussions with speakers or stand personnel.
