CLASP and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) join hands at CEM14 to support India’s Net Zero goals through a massive 10 million Energy-Efficient Fans programme.
In a significant development towards India’s ambitious journey to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emissions, CLASP and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) have formalized their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed during a side-event at the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM14) dedicated to “Accelerating India’s Net Zero Transition through Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Cooling & Mobility.”
The collaboration aims to bolster EESL’s commendable effort of implementing the 10 million Energy-Efficient Fans programme. This ambitious initiative seeks to drive the adoption of energy-efficient ceiling fans across the country, ultimately leading to substantial power savings of about 15% in residential consumption annually.
The signing ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including representatives from the Ministry of Power, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, and State ministers from Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, among other key stakeholders.
At the heart of the partnership lies CLASP’s commitment to provide technical assistance and capacity building to EESL on Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) for the ceiling fans market transformation programme. This collaboration signifies the power of collective action and expertise in the pursuit of a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for India.
Vishal Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of EESL, emphasised that such partnerships and collaborations underscore EESL’s unwavering dedication to promoting energy efficiency and sustainability across various sectors.
