Munters EC Cool with CELdek Pad decreases the inlet temperature for your air-cooled chiller or rooftop condenser.

Evaporative cooling is a process in which the temperature of an inlet air is reduced through the evaporation of water. Munters has been the leading pioneer in humidity control technologies worldwide for over half a century.

Munters EC Cool is an evaporative cooling pad system that decreases the inlet temperature for your air-cooled chiller or rooftop condenser. Air passes through wetted CELdek® media, whereby the ambient air temperature is lowered before it reaches the condenser coil. Decreasing the inlet temperature conditions decreases the risk of high-pressure alarms. As a bonus, the efficiency of your cooling system increases as well.

Munters EC Cool is a modular and flexible system that can be retrofitted to any condenser size, even up to 2 m high. The cost-effective system is easy to install and maintain and made from high-quality UV-stabilized PVC and PP material.

The primary benefit of EC Cool on air-cooled chillers is energy efficiency. By reducing the temperature of the condenser, the compressor works on the lower refrigerant lift, which translates to lower energy consumption. This reduces energy consumption by approximately ~30 percent since every drop in 1 deg C reduces energy consumption by around 2 percent.

The temperature of the condenser is a critical factor in the performance of an air-cooled chiller, and high temperatures can cause the system to shut down or malfunction. By using EC Cool, the condenser temperature is maintained within safe limits. It also results in improved performance and increased capacity.

Energy-intensive applications such as Data centres, pharmaceuticals, commercials or Other industries where consumption of chilled water is very high, Munters EC Cool system offers excellent energy-saving opportunities on their air-cooled chiller. It supports well when short cycling of hot air to the condenser inlet is troubling the chiller operation, specifically when several air-cooled chillers are installed nearby.

In conclusion, Munters EC Cool on the condenser of an air-cooled chiller offers numerous benefits, including improved energy efficiency, increased reliability, capacity, environmental advantages and improved performance at the lowest cost.
